They have traditionally two racing seasons each year featuring the finest thoroughbred racing. The meets are from November to March and then from the end of June through September. The park is always open to the public providing daily simulcasting offerings, where bets can be placed on other tracks across the country. This happens in their fantastic Player’s Lounge, which provides a comfortable place to have a beverage and place a bet or two. There are dining and entertainment options provided throughout the meets for patrons to enjoy. They include a center for trade shows, business expos and large group events. Sam Houston also offers a great 19 luxury suite complex to help others.
Manor Downs- Manor
The oldest and most prestigious pari-mutual horse racetrack in the Lone Star State, it is a must visit when you are in the Austin area. They are open six days a week for simulcasting with the only exception being on Tuesday. They run a racing program running from late February to the end of April featuring both thoroughbred and quarter horse racing. The convenient location just ten miles outside of the Austin city limits makes it a great part of a visit to the state capital. The Turf Club is a fine dining experience that provides a great atmosphere to enjoy a horse race and the company of great friends.
